This policy explains what data Curionaut ("we") handles on this website and in Curionaut Dashboard, our private internal tool. Contact: support@curionaut.net.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not collect personal data. If you email us, we use your email only to reply.

Curionaut Dashboard

Curionaut Dashboard runs only on the channel owner's own computer and is used only by the channel owner. It is not available to other users and we do not ask anyone else to log in to it.

It uses the official APIs of YouTube, Instagram and TikTok to read:

• Our own accounts: profile information and statistics of the Curionaut accounts (followers, views, likes, comment counts, video list).
• Public comments: the public comments left on our own videos, and public comments on a small number of public videos from other science channels, to understand what viewers ask for and how to improve our videos.
• TikTok: only our own TikTok account, through TikTok Login Kit with the scopes user.info.basic, user.info.profile, user.info.stats and video.list. We do not access any other TikTok user's data.

How the data is used

• To show our own channel statistics in one place and to find viewers' questions, requests and feedback.
• Comment text may be summarised with an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) to group similar comments. Only the text needed for this is sent, and only for this purpose.
• We do not sell, rent or share this data with third parties, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles of individual people.

Storage and deletion

• Data is stored only on the channel owner's computer.
• Raw data retrieved from the platforms (including comment text and author names) is deleted automatically after 30 days. What we keep longer are aggregated notes (for example, "12 viewers asked for a video on topic X") without names or comment text.
• Access tokens for our own accounts are stored locally and can be revoked at any time from the platform's settings.

Platform policies

Curionaut Dashboard uses YouTube API Services. By using YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke access through the Google security settings page. TikTok's handling of data is described in the TikTok Privacy Policy, and Instagram's in the Instagram Privacy Policy.

Your choices

If you left a comment on one of our videos and want it removed from our local data before the automatic 30-day deletion, email support@curionaut.net and we will delete it within 7 days. You can also delete the comment on the platform itself.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
